Service & Maintenance Engineer (m/f/d)

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance & Troubleshooting

  • Plan, organize, and execute maintenance and repair activities

  • Perform root cause analysis and resolve technical faults in areas such as instrumentation, piping, static and rotary equipment, DCS/PLC systems

  • Calibrate and troubleshoot instrumentation and sensors

  • Operate and optimize electrical subsystems (e.g. drives, fans, relays, breakers, grounding systems)

  • Develop and maintain maintenance schedules, protocols, and reports (including remote troubleshooting documentation)

Customer Interaction & Field Service

  • Conduct on-site service visits and system interventions at customer locations (domestic and international)

  • Act as a technical point of contact for customers and ensure service satisfaction

  • Coordinate and supervise external service providers and contractors

  • Support the drafting and management of service and maintenance contracts


System Optimization & Innovation

  • Analyze system malfunctions and recommend technical improvements

  • Develop and implement predictive, preventive, and reactive maintenance strategies

  • Collaborate with software, process, and data teams to create digital twins, condition monitoring, and predictive fault detection dashboards

  • Support lifecycle innovation by recommending system upgrades and design-for-maintenance improvements

  • Contribute to HAZOP and risk assessment processes

  • Develop training manuals and conduct training sessions for plant operators



What do you bring?

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation & Control Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field

  • Several years of experience in service, maintenance, or operations of process or industrial systems

  • Solid understanding of electrical, control, and instrumentation systems (EMSR)

  • Hands-on experience with DCS and/or PLC systems (basic programming knowledge required)

  • Experience managing external contractors and technical projects

  • Excellent communication skills and strong customer orientation

  • Proficiency in English (spoken and written); German is a plus

  • Confident using MS Office; experience with SAP or similar ERP systems is a plus

  • Self-starter with a hands-on mentality, team spirit, and problem-solving skills

  • Willingness to travel internationally and participate in on-call duty rotation

Welche Aufgaben übernimmst Du?

Kraftblock ist ein schnell wachsendes Cleantech-Unternehmen mit Sitz in Sulzbach/Saar. Wir entwickeln modulare Hochtemperatur-Energiespeichersysteme, die die Dekarbonisierung energieintensiver Industrien ermöglichen, indem Abwärme und erneuerbare Energien flexibel gespeichert und genutzt werden. Als Service- & Wartungsingenieur bist du verantwortlich für den technischen Betrieb, die Instandhaltung und die kontinuierliche Optimierung unserer thermischen Energiespeichersysteme. Du arbeitest sowohl direkt vor Ort bei unseren Kunden als auch eng mit unseren interdisziplinären Teams zusammen.


Wartung & Fehlerbehebung

  • Planung, Organisation und Durchführung von Wartungs- und Reparaturarbeiten

  • Ursachenanalyse und Behebung technischer Störungen in Bereichen wie Mess- und Regeltechnik, Rohrleitungen, statische und rotierende Anlagen, DCS/PLC-Systeme

  • Kalibrierung und Fehlersuche an Instrumenten und Sensoren

  • Betrieb und Optimierung elektrischer Teilsysteme (z. B. Antriebe, Ventilatoren, Relais, Schalter, Erdungssysteme)

  • Erstellung und Pflege von Wartungsplänen, Protokollen und Berichten (inklusive Remote-Troubleshooting-Dokumentation)

Kundenbetreuung & Vor-Ort-Service

  • Durchführung von Serviceeinsätzen und Systemeingriffen bei Kunden im In- und Ausland

  • Ansprechpartner für technische Kundenfragen und Sicherstellung der Servicezufriedenheit

  • Koordination und Überwachung externer Dienstleister und Auftragnehmer

  • Unterstützung bei der Erstellung und Betreuung von Service- und Wartungsverträgen

Systemoptimierung & Innovation

  • Analyse von Systemstörungen und Erarbeitung technischer Verbesserungen

  • Entwicklung und Umsetzung vorausschauender, präventiver und reaktiver Wartungsstrategien

  • Zusammenarbeit mit Software-, Prozess- und Datenteams zur Erstellung von Digital Twins, Condition Monitoring und Predictive Fault Detection Dashboards

  • Unterstützung der Systemweiterentwicklung durch Empfehlungen zu Upgrades und wartungsfreundlichem Design

  • Mitwirkung an HAZOP-Analysen und Risikobewertungen

  • Erstellung von Trainingsunterlagen und Durchführung von Schulungen für Anlagenbediener

Was bringst Du mit?

  • Abgeschlossenes Studium im Bereich Maschinenbau, Mechatronik, Automatisierungs- & Regelungstechnik, Verfahrenstechnik oder vergleichbar

  • Mehrjährige Berufserfahrung im Service, in der Wartung oder im Betrieb von Prozess- bzw. Industrieanlagen

  • Fundierte Kenntnisse in Elektro-, Mess-, Steuerungs- und Regelungstechnik (EMSR)

  • Praktische Erfahrung mit DCS- und/oder PLC-Systemen (Grundkenntnisse in Programmierung erforderlich)

  • Erfahrung in der Steuerung externer Dienstleister und technischer Projekte

  • Sehr gute Kommunikationsfähigkeiten und ausgeprägte Kundenorientierung

  • Sehr gute Englischkenntnisse in Wort und Schrift; Deutschkenntnisse von Vorteil

  • Sicherer Umgang mit MS Office; Erfahrung mit SAP oder vergleichbaren ERP-Systemen ist ein Plus

  • Eigeninitiative, Hands-on-Mentalität, Teamgeist und ausgeprägte Problemlösungskompetenz

  • Bereitschaft zu internationalen Reisen und Teilnahme an Rufbereitschaftsdiensten
